As recently featured in Powder Magazine, skiers and snowboarders will soon be able to enjoy easy access to two of Lake Tahoe’s most popular ski resorts, Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows, with a new base-to-base gondola connecting the two resorts.
The plans for the gondola follow the 2011 union of the two popular ski resorts. Since then, customers have enjoyed access to both parks through the purchase of a single lift ticket. Internal tracking of those lift tickets has revealed that around 25 percent of lift ticket purchasers visit both resorts in the same day. The two resorts are currently separated by a short drive.
The gondola will make it easier for skiers to visit both parks in one day, eliminating the short drive and delivering a more eco-friendly option to travel between the resorts.
