Ms. Morrison is the chief compliance officer and managing director of Hall Capital Partners LLC. She is also a member of the company’s executive committee. Helane joined the firm in 2007, and she is responsible for legal and compliance functions for the SEC-registered investment adviser. Hall Capital Partners LLC is located in San Francisco Bay Area and is one of the largest and most successful advisory firms.
Ms. Morrison is a hardworking woman who has entirely devoted her career to streamlining the area of compliance. Prior to joining Hall Capital in 2007, Ms. Morrison used to work for the San Francisco Office of the U.S Security and Exchange Commission (SEC). She served as the director administrator and later the regional director of the firm. Helane Morrison was tasked with fraud litigation, regulatory issues, and securities law enforcement in North California and five states in the Northwest. During her time in SEC, Ms. Morrison handled several fraud cases involving top executives from renowned companies such as NextCard Inc, Google, HBO and Hewlett-Packard. She also revealed the deceptive sale of fake securities by the American Amicable to more than 50, 000 military staff.
In 1986 to 1996, Ms. Morrison worked for Howard, Rice, Nemerovski, Canady, Falk & Rabkin, located in San Francisco Bay Area. She worked as an arbitrator in defending brokers and stock brokerage companies in lawsuits forwarded by clients. She concentrated on business litigation and defense of securities firms. She also carried out internal corporate investigations. She worked for the company as an associate for the company but was later elevated to a partner in 1991.
Ms. Helane Morrison received her bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Northwestern University and later joined the University of California at Berkeley, School of Law. She earned her Juris Doctor in 1984 and was admitted to practice law by the state bar of California.
