Shaygan Kheradpir on ireport.cnn is an expert in technology and also an executive in the business field. He holds a bachelor, masters and a PhD from Cornell University where he specialized in electrical engineering. He has played a very important role in the development of various applications and software that have found usage in most of the high-ranking corporates in the world. At GTE Corporation is where Kheradpir first commenced his career. He was tasked with network routing, control and management. Over time, he was promoted to the position of the chief information officer, and at this position, he was able to earn a lot of respect owing to his swift delivery of new products whenever they were needed.

In 2000, Bell Atlantic merged with GTE to form a new organization that was called the Verizon Communications. Under this new merger, Shaygan Kheradpir served as president at the division of e-business and later progressed to become the first CTO/CIO of the company. The firm was able to expand into a wide range of services on ICT and it automated its operations as a result of the expertise provided by Kheradpir. While still working at Verizon, Kheradpir influenced the reduction of the company’s IT budget into a significant amount. To add on, the IT staffs were also trimmed by about 20%, and this was able to cut down the company’s operational costs. Kheradpir was also responsible for the reduction of technology purchases from vendors. He was able to negotiate with vendors and the suppliers to trim down their prices and advised the firm to blow away its policy of purchasing IT devices. He saw major contracts being outsourced at lower costs. The company in addition managed to advance and set up new software to boost up its potential.

In January 2011, Kheradpir joined Barclays and headed the department on Global Retail and Business Banking. He helped in development of products such as Pingit mobile transfer. He was later promoted to the rank of Chief Operations & Technology Officer for the whole company. He ensured that the bank renovated its operations to be at par with the industrialization in the 21st century.

Kheradpir was later on appointed as the CEO at Juniper Networks. Here, he launched a program that enabled investors minimize their expenses, buy back stocks and increase dividends.
